Jim Rish, head of the Republican wing of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, expressed this opinion in an interview with European Pravda, published on November 21.

“I really think so… What you are doing is incredibly impressive, and it has already shocked the whole world. And this is the key now: Putin has already lost. Although he has not yet found a way to get out of all this, he will still look for this exit,” said the US senator.

According to Rish, hostilities will continue for some time.

“We are constantly talking to… [украинскими] military about what kind of weapons they need to … [победы], and in the first positions they name everything that will help control the airspace, for example, air defense systems. Now we have achieved great success in this, but we can do even more,” the US senator emphasized. “Air control is the goal that needs to be achieved in order to defeat the Russians. Because every time you face them in battle on the ground, you defeat them.”

Context:

On February 24, Putin announced an invasion of Ukraine under the guise of “demilitarization” and “denazification” of Ukraine. Initially, according to the SBU, Putin expected to seize Ukraine in a few days. But the blitzkrieg failed.

The Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly stated that they are pursuing the goal of de-occupying all Ukrainian territories seized by Russia since 2014, including Crimea.

The war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine will end by the beginning of the summer of 2023, Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, predicted in mid-October. “For starters” Ukraine will reach the borders of 1991, the head of intelligence said.
