Presented Vivo X90 Pro+ is the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 smartphone – Smartphones

After the Vivo X90, the top model of this line debuted, the Vivo X90 Pro+. If in the first case we immediately talked about the single-crystal system, then during the announcement of the X90 Pro+, attention was focused on the most important thing – the camera.

And no wonder: Vivo X90 Pro+ may well be among the best camera phones according to DxOMark, for this it has everything it needs. The main image sensor is a Sony IMX989 optical format of 1 inch. It is complemented by Zeiss optics consisting of eight elements (one of these elements is glass, while most smartphones use only plastic elements), as well as an optical image stabilization system. The lens aperture of the main module is F/1.75.

No less remarkable is the periscope module with a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor. There is also optical stabilization here, and the maximum zoom (hybrid – optical and digital together) is 100X. And it’s capable of working wonders, judging by the test images posted below.

Again for the first time: The X90 Pro+ debuts a 50-megapixel Sony IMX758 sensor. Its optical format is 1/2.51 inch, the lens is portrait, with a focal length of 50 mm. And there is also optical stabilization.

The only module in which there is no OIS is with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 sensor. The camera also has a laser autofocus assistant.

As with the basic Vivo X90, the main single-chip system (in this case, it is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) is complemented by the proprietary Vivo V2 chip. As for the memory, the Vivo X90 Pro + uses LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0. In order to ensure adequate cooling of both chips, Vivo provided a huge cooling system with an evaporation chamber consisting of two halves and having a total area of 8900 mm 2 .

The first phone with a Samsung E6 screen was not the Xiaomi 13 and especially not the Galaxy S23 — it was the Vivo X90 Pro+. The display is made using LTPO 4.0 technology, the resolution is 2K, the peak brightness is 1800 cd/sq.m, the PWM control frequency is 1440 Hz (and in terms of the last parameter, the screen is inferior to the BOE display in the Vivo X90). The diagonal of the screen is 6.78 inches. The front camera embedded in it is equipped with a 32-megapixel Samsung S5KGD2 sensor.

Vivo X90 Pro+ received a battery with a capacity of 4700 mAh with support for wired charging with a capacity of 80 W and wireless capacity of 50 W. The thickness of the device body was 9.7 mm, the weight is a decent 221 grams. The configuration of the device, in addition to everything listed above, includes an NFC chip, an IR emitter, stereo speakers, IP68 protection and Android 13 with the OriginOS 3 interface.

The most interesting thing is that the prices for such a device are quite low: the basic version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory is estimated at $910, the top version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory costs $980. But these prices are for China, and in Europe the novelty will be significantly more expensive.
