In total, Ukrainian defenders shot down 51 rockets. 31 Russian missiles were spotted over the capital, 22 of them were shot down
The Russian invaders launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. The President of Ukraine informed about the use of 67 missiles by the enemy.
Russia fired about 70 missiles on the territory of Ukraine. More than 50 were shot down by Ukrainian soldiers. This was announced on Wednesday, November 23, on the air of the telethon by the representative of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat.
“With the forces and means at our disposal, to achieve such results is the heroic deeds of all the defenders of the sky,” he said.
Ignat said that the Ukrainian air defense system involved: fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire teams with MANPADS throughout the country.
Answering the question whether weather conditions, in particular fog, affect the process of reflecting missiles, Ignat said: “If we are talking about shooting down missiles with means that have radar systems – radars, then for them the question of weather is not worth it. However, when we talk about visual contact with the target, then weather conditions will be affected.”
The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that on November 23, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with sea and air-based missiles.
“10 Tu-95 bombers were raised from the Engels airfield and from the Caspian Sea area. Two types of missiles were used X-101 and X-55. And Caliber missiles were fired from two boats in the Black Sea,” he stressed.
Ignat added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 51 missiles and 5 kamikaze drones.
It should be noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at a meeting of the UN Security Council. He called on the organization to condemn the Russians’ missile attacks on our country’s energy infrastructure and called them a “crime against humanity.”
